What Fundermax panels do we stock fixings for?

Mainline Products supplies fixings for two Fundermax panel ranges. The standard Fundermax façade range covers 6mm, 8mm and 10mm panel thicknesses. The Fundermax m.look range is a reinforced glass fibre mineral panel available in 7mm thickness and has its own specific fixing requirements: the rivet head diameter is different, so it cannot share a rivet with the other thicknesses.

Which rivet do I need for my Fundermax panel?

Three aluminium/stainless large flange dome head rivets are available on this page, covering four panel thicknesses across two Fundermax ranges. The thickness and the panel type together determine which rivet you need:

  • 6mm and 8mm standard Fundermax panels - 5 x 18 x 16mm rivet, 16mm head diameter, for installation into aluminium subframes.
  • 10mm standard Fundermax panels - 5 x 25 x 16mm rivet, 16mm head diameter, for installation into aluminium subframes.
  • 7mm Fundermax m.look panels - 5 x 18 x 14mm rivet, 14mm head diameter. This rivet is specific to the m.look reinforced glass fibre mineral panel and is not interchangeable with the rivets above.

If you are unsure which panel thickness or range you are working with, check your Fundermax installation guide or call us before ordering.

Both 16mm head rivets are available unpainted or color-matched in Standard, Gloss, Woodgrain, Metallic or Chameleon finishes.

Which screws are specified for Fundermax panels?

A2 stainless steel low profile screws are specified for face-fixing Fundermax panels to timber substructures, available for 6mm, 8mm and 10mm panel thicknesses. The head is painted to match your panel finish; the thread stays bare so it drives cleanly into the timber.

What installation tools do I need?

Three tools are needed for a correct Fundermax rivet installation:

  • Centralising drilling tool: Two versions depending on your subframe. The 8 x 5.1mm tool is for metal subframes, with an 8mm nose diameter and a 5.1mm drill bit. The 7.5 x 3mm tool is for timber subframes, with a 7.5mm nose diameter and a 3mm drill bit. Replacement drill bits are available separately: 5.1mm for the metal tool and 3mm for the timber tool.
  • HSS step drill bit - (5.1mm x 8.5mm): For drilling through aluminium subframe and Fundermax cladding in a single pass. Fundermax is a compact laminate panel - HSS is the correct bit type for this material.
  • Rivet setting nose piece (K16): Attaches to your powered rivet tool and sets each rivet exactly 0.3mm from the panel face, allowing for thermal movement after installation. Refer to your Fundermax installation guide to confirm the correct nose piece for your rivet size before starting.
