What Trespa® panels are available?

Trespa® manufacture high-performance HPL rainscreen panels, that stands for high-pressure laminate. It is a dense, smooth composite material with very different drilling characteristics from fibre cement. This matters when it comes to choosing the right drill bit for your installation.

Trespa® panels are used extensively on commercial and residential façade projects globally, vlaued for their surface consistency, weather resistance and the wide range of colours and finishes available. Panels come in four thicknesses, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 13mm, and the thickness determines which rivet you need.

Which Rivet do I need for my Trespa® Panel?

Trespa® specifies aluminium/stainless large flange dome head rivets with a 16mm head diameter for face-fixing panels to metal subframes. Both rivets on this page share that 16mm head and a 5mm body diameter. The difference is in the grip range:

  • 6mm and 8mm Trespa® panels: 5 x 18 x 16mm rivets
  • 10mm and 13mm Trespa® panels: 5 x 25 x 16mm rivets

Because both rivets share the same 16mm head diameter, a single nose piece, the K16, covers both. Check your panel thickness before ordering and refer to your Trespa® installation guide if you are unsure.

Both rivets are available unpainted or color-matched in Standard, Gloss, Woodgrain, Metallic or Chameleon finishes

Which Screws are specified for Trespa® Panels?

A2 stainless steel low profile screws (4.8 x 38 x 12mm) are specified for face-fixing 6mm, 8mm and 10mm Trespa® panels to timber substructures. Note that 13mm Trespa® panels are rivet-fixed only; there is no screw option for that thickness. All screws in our range can be color-matched to your panel finish. Only the head is painted; the thread stays unpainted, so the fixing performance is not compromised.

What installation tools do I need?

Three tools are needed for a correct Trespa® panel installation:

  • Centralising drilling tool: Two versions available, depending on your subframe. The 9.5 x 5.1mm tool is for metal subframes, producing a 10mm sliding point holes with a 5.1mm drill bit. The 7.5 x 3mm tool is for timber subframes, drilling a 3mm pilot hole concentric to an 8mm sliding point. Replacement drill bits, 5.1mm for the metal tool, 3mm for the timber tool, are available separately.
  • HSS step drill bits - 5.1mm x 19mm: For drilling through aluminium subframe and Trespa® cladding simultaneously. Unlike fibre cement, Trespa® is an HPL panel and HSS is the correct bit type. Do not use carbide bits design for fibre cement on Trespa® panels.
  • Rivet setting nose piece - K16: Used with both rivets on this page, setting each one exactly 0.3mm away from the panel face to allow for thermal movement after installation.

The Trespa® Panel Installation Kit bundles the centralising tools, nose piece and drill bits together, a practical starting point if you are setting up for a Trespa® project from scratch.

Can my Trespa® Fixings be color-matched?

Every rivet and screw on this page can be factory painted to an exact match for your Trespa® panel, whether you are working to a RAL reference, a BS colour code or a paint-to-sample match from the panel itself. The head is painted before it leaves us. The match is guaranteed. 25-year coating warranty on all painted fixings. Free sample packs are available, which is a good idea given how visible the fixing head sits against a Trespa® surface.
